About the Book

The book is excerpted from The New Human Revolution and other writings by Daisaku Ikeda.

This book is a record of the six trailblazing campaigns — Kamata, Bunkyo, Sapporo, Kansai, Yamaguchi and Arakawa — that SGI President Daisaku Ikeda fought as a youth in the 1950s. He was responding to his mentor Josei Toda’s bold declaration of realizing a membership of 750,000 households. This was when Soka Gakkai had only 3000 members.

The young Daisaku accomplished this impossible goal in less than seven years, winning every challenge, every battle, decisively. He opened the way for every member to stand up with a fresh determination to trigger a new wave of expansion into the future, deepen their conviction in faith and develop a sense of real joy and happiness.

To this day, these pioneering campaigns continue to inspire members of the Soka Gakkai. They provide invaluable guidance, memorable lessons and, most importantly, lead us to believe that like Shin’ichi Yamamoto, if we keep our mentor in our hearts, no target is too high and no goal impossible to achieve. This book will forever be a ready reference for members on how to fight and how to win a campaign decisively and convincingly.
